-
Remove all clutter from console.
-
Open the console storage area, and notice how it's actually a separate
"bin". You have to remove this moulded bin before you can
get at the screws. If you grab the edge on one side, and pull it
toward the centre and pull up, it should come out (its held in by small tabs
moulded into the plastic).
-
Remove the (2)
10mm bolts located in the bottom.
- Lift area around shifter. Simply pull up on the trim, it just
pops out with a bit of upward force (its held in with metal tabs, so try to avoid losing them!).
-
Beside shifter, remove 3rd 10mm bolt.
- The 4th bolt is hidden under the moulded rubber cupholder piece.
Simply pry this rubber piece out to expose the 4th 10mm bolt.
- To completely remove the console, it is necessary to remove the
shift knob. Instructions will vary with shift knobs, but stock 5 speed
and automatic transmission knobs
have a "C" clip in front that is easily pried out with a flat screwdriver.
-
Console should lift off easily, with a little work to clear the
dash.
- Install in reverse order, being careful to fully tighten shift knob,
or replace clip in stock shift knob. Remember to replace the rubber
cupholder piece as well.
