Your 1995-99 Cavalier Z24 is equipped with 27 watt halogen fog lights (part #881) from the factory.  Although these bulbs are sufficient, they can be easily and cheaply upgraded to 55 watts!

1. Go to your local parts store, and purchase 2 halogen bulbs, type 886.  These bulbs are identical to the 881 bulbs, except they have a 55 watt output.

2. Reach up in behind the front fasica where the fog light is mounted, and turn the wire and mounting assembly counter-clockwise.  The bulb will release from the housing.

3. Disconnect the existing 27 watt bulb, and replace it with the new 55 watt bulb.  DO NOT touch the glass!  The oil from your fingers will significantly reduce bulb life.  If you happen to touch the glass, carefully wipe the glass clean with a Kleenex.

4. Install the 55 watt bulb into the fog light housing, twisting it in a clockwise direction until it's tight.

5. Repeat this process for the other side.
